Birthday party invitation question. Who should we invite?
My daughter is turning 7 in February. She would like to have a horseback riding party. The party can only have 15 kids at the most. That limits us on the number of people we can invite. Her list is about 23 kids long that included neighbors, kids of coworkers and school friends. Last year, we had quite a few families not RSVP and/or come. I don't want to have an "A" list and "B" list, but I want to make sure that we fill the slots too. Any suggestions on who to invite without making anyone upset.

Children's birthday parties and gifts?
I don't mean to sound ungrateful about people who purchase gifts for children - just realistic here. Normally when people buy presents for birthday parties (when children invite their friends) the gifts are junk (from what I remember). Parents simply do not have the money to buy nice gifts for every party their children are invited to - nor do I expect wonderful presents for my son at his birthday parties. I just don't see a reason to add 20 toys to my son's collection when he already doesn't (and won't) play with half of them. I am considering (when he gets old enough to have 'friend' parties) to either - 1. have a 'gift exchange' for all children. Bring a gift and draw numbers out of a hat - all children leave with a present 2. Write 'no gifts please' on the invitations, but accept monetary donations to a charity of my son's choice in lieu of gifts. Would this be bad, or out of line. As a parent, what would you think if either of these situations were presented to you on a birthday party invitation. And donations to the charity would be a totally optional thing. I wouldn't specifically ask for them, but say 'no gifts please, but donations will be accepted to the xxxxx charity.

13th Birthday Party invitation ideas?
Hi! My 13th birthday party is going to be on May 28th 2011 (its saturday) im thinking of inviting 15 people over to my house. So there will be 16 people including me. Its pretty much an outside party, we are doing stuff like capture the flag, obstacle course, manhunt, trampoline, scavenger hunt, and other outdoor activities. We are all watching a scary movie at night. I'm think that everyone will come at 2:00pm and leave at 10:00pm, but having 5 people for the sleepover. It's girls and boys. My favorite colors are hot pink and aquamarine. But since its girl and boys I don't want to handout pink invitations (maybe blue and green for boys, pink and blue for girls? idk) But i dont want the invitation to be tlike a scroll, just because it's outside doesn't mean im a tomboy....what should the invitation say, and how soon should I send it out, and what should the invitations look and be like? Where can I find birthday party invitations for The Very Hungry Caterpillar?
The book is by Eric Carle. I would like this theme for my son's 1st birthday and I last seen these invitations and party supplies at Target several months ago and now Tagrte doesnt' carry any party supplies for this theme anymore! I'm kicking myself in the butt now that I didn't buy them. :( I've tried some of the party store websites (50/50, Card Factory Outlet) and also Target.com, Overstock.com and even E-bay (I might settle for E-bay-they have printables on there that can be ordered individually...but I wanted to see if I could get a better deal by finding the ones you fill out yourself).
