Would you add "No gift necessary" on high school graduation announcements?
There are some people who you send announcements to that it's OK if they send a gift (like close family), but there are others that we'd just like to send one to but don't want them to feel obligated to send a gift or think that's the reason we're sending the announcement. If you mention "No gift necessary" does it make them assume that you're thinking of gifts? This might not really fit in the Financial Aid category, but having a senior in high school I've done my share of researching financial aid lately so I thought this would be a good audience to answer my question.

Is it weird to give your boyfriend pictures of yourself as a gift?
I am in my last year of high school, and so I've recently had professional pictures taken to be used for graduation announcements and such. I am not a very fussy girl, and I come from an equally as "non-fussy" family, so having pictures such as this done is not something that happens often in my life. The last time I had pictures taken was years ago when my youngest sibling was born and we had a family shoot or whatever. Anyway. They came out very nice, and I'm really excited to send them out. I am of a very creative nature, and recently my art teacher showed me an interesting framing technique in which you wrap a piece of canvas around matte board with an area cut out for the photo, thus creating a lot of negative space between it and the frame. It looked wonderful with the picture he showed me, and I have been itching to try it out lately. My boyfriend and I live about 1,000 miles apart, so needless to say we don't have the option of seeing each other very often. We have been together over two years now, and have a very committed relationship, considering it wouldn't make sense to stay together if we weren't in it for the "long haul", so to speak. We are both pretty sentimental people, so I had the idea to use my new-found framing idea and make a collection of a few of my senior pictures to send to him. However, I'm a very self-conscious person, so I don't know if this would be considered tacky or queer, or whatever, soo I am now pleading to the strangers' public for advice, ahah. But, it would be very much appreciated. :) I would greatly appreciate it if people not use their answers as a way to insult me. There is a reason I expanded so greatly on the question. And I fail to see how being older makes this subject any classier, even less so how "lingerie shots" are. But yes, I forgot to mention that I had planned on writing a little note in one corner of the display. It would be one 5x7 portrait photo on one side, then two landscape wallets on the other. The note under those two, so that all elements lined up to make a square. I am by no means self-absorbed, and would never consider this if he lived somewhere I could see him every day...

How do I phrase a college graduation announcement?
I am graduating from nursing school in May and although I only want my parents and brother to attend, I do want the rest of my family to know about my accomplishment. I've read that announcements get sent out after the graduation has occurred, in which case, does the information included change? Do I leave the time and place out? Question about putting together multiple pieces to a mailing?

Can you send things like Cards to guys in Marine bootcamp?
My boyfriend is currently in Marine boot camp in San Deigo. Ill be graduating high school in June and he will be there. I want to mail him a graduation announcement/invitation but I wasnt sure if I was allowed to. I read online that recruits sometimes get teased for recieving cards and packages and the last thing I want is to get him unwanted attention. Ive sent him tons of letters and pictures and there hasnt been any problems he says he loves it. The announcement is basically like a card that is very formal.
