birthday party invitations?
I am planning a Build-a-Bear party for my soon-to-be 6 yr. old, then going out for pizza. When asking questions of of the store on how they do parties, they said they ask parents to leave, except for birthday mom. How do I word that on invitations? The store is in the mall, so I was thinking of something like:
"Time: The bear making festivities will be from 3:00-4:00, so parents are free to enjoy some Christmas shopping time during this activity. At 4:00, we will head to ......"
I don't know if that is clear enough that parents WON'T be allowed. Ideas?
lola bear - It's build-a-bear that doesn't allow all those parents as they are still open for business and don't close the store for a party. It's not like I'm banning parents from the party. I'm asking how to communicate build-a-bear's policy.

Party invitation name?? Theme?
My mom asked me to put together her party theme & name...
She moved out of her own house bc it was too big & it reminded her of my dad (her ex) but it was getting to expensive & the people weren't paying on time, so she's back, doing some remodeling... She wants me to make some invites kind of like a "Damn, I'm back!!" She wants to I guess make the best of being back - might as well party.. Haha any other name ideas I can put on the invitations??? TY :)

Invitation followed by an automatic gift request, rude or not?
I am struggling with this. A close family member of mine insist on sending out a "gift request" with party invitations. I first noticed it when I got an invitation from this individual for child's birthday party. The invitation stated the usual time, place etc followed by hand written size of clothing and shoes. Thinking it was tacky I asked "why did you include that on the invitation?" she simply responded with "usually people call and ask for it anyway so I figure it would be easier" Since it's a child I can somewhat understand this logic.
I have received invitations for graduations and adult age birthday parties followed by gift card ideas or cash. Not only do I find this extremely rude since I didn't initiate the question of things they might want, who's to say I want to give them the suggested items? My gift card isn't going to make a dent in their purchase nor is it a well thought out gift. Some of my other family members have lost their job due to the economy and they too felt like they couldn't attend without a gift. Personally I think it's extremely rude.
I have tried to address it with this person but I believe they are clueless and just don't get it. Do you think it's rude?
I also believe it's insulting because you would only give gift suggestions to someone that doesn't know the celebrated person that well. For example, I should know my nephew, niece, brother, sister well enough to come up with my own gift ideas, IF I exhaust all of those efforts then I might ask what they would like. If I knew someone purchased something for me because they were instructed to I wouldn't want it. Or if I felt like someone felt obligated to get me something I wouldn't want it. Adults can buy their own "wants" and my gift card contribution probably isn't going to make a dent in their purchase.
Christmas as well .. I received a text message asking "are we buying for everyone this year or just the kids" what I understood this question to real mean was "I don't want to buy you anything if I am not getting anything in return"

Ok, I know what date, time, place and RSVP means, but what do I write in the For: section. Is it (my daughter's name) Party or do I write the child I want to invite or have I completely missed the point. Sorry, yes it is the first party I am organising - and by myself.

How to reject a party invitation?
I have this upcoming event which I don't want to go because I hate going for parties which involved boys(my parents don't allow) and if I don't go, I would be under huge pressure on why I can't go and why my parents are so strict. I hate being questioned on party rejections and very often I am under huge pressure to say "yes" to the invitation. I need a polite and once and for all reason enough to shut their mouths and able to reject the invitation. Any suggestions?

What time should I write on my party invitation?
At my graduation party, I am inviting older family members, as well as young family members and friends. I know the older family will want to return home early, and the younger people will want to stay and party until late. I would like to list a time on my invitation but I don't know how to write an indefinite ending time. Basically people can stay as long as they possibly want.
Should I write something like:
5:00 PM - Til
Or just:
5:00 PM
And then explain to invitees the plan of having older family and friends there earlier and everyone can arrive at any time and stay til whenever
